Multiple Brit & Grammy award winner, John Illsley, released his sixth solo studio album ‘Long Shadows’ in May 2016. He will be playing dates across the UK this Autumn promoting the album and playing some much loved songs from the Dire Straits catalogue.
Founding member and bass player of Dire Straits, John has 7 solo albums to his credit, an output that, although never rushed, has been critically acclaimed. The new album Long Shadows features John’s unmistakable sound, his approach to song writing and arrangement, paired with his faultless lyrical storytelling.
Mojo magazine comments that, “John is an astute lyricist.”
The Daily Telegraph called John’s Live show ‘ferocious” and after several years of touring Europe with more or less the same band this is truer than ever. Appearances from Robbie McIntosh (Paul McCartney, Tom Jones), Paul Stacey (Oasis, The Black Crows) and Phil Palmer (Dire Straits, Eric Clapton) are not uncommon as part of John’s band. Line up on this tour is still to be confirmed.
